Upload historical data in PST Files to Vaultastic

I- Send a request to the Vaultastic Team

  • To upload your historical data on Vaultastic, send an email to [email protected] requesting for
a. A temporary S3 bucket to upload the source PST files
b. An account on the Mithi's Historical Data Uploader System
  • The Vaultastic team will create a S3 storage bucket on AWS. The team will send you an email with CSV attached containing the credentials required to upload the PST files to S3 Bucket and the login credentials to Mithi's Historical Data Upload portal.

II- Upload historical data to your Vaultastic domain

Uploading historical data to a Vaultastic account is a three steps process.

Step 1: Upload PSTs to the S3 bucket
Step 2: Import data from the PST files to Vaultastic
Step 3: View the uploaded content

Step 1. Upload PST files

To upload PST files,
A. Configure the S3 browser on your machine and create an external bucket
B. Upload PST files

A: Configure the S3 browser

a. Download the S3 browser from the site https://s3browser.com
b. Launch the S3 browser App.

An Add New Account window displays on the screen.
c. Provide the account details which you have received in the email from the Vaultastic team.

- Enter Account Name.
For Example: mithi230217.
- Provide the Access key ID
- Enter the Secret Access Key.
- Click the Add New Account button to proceed.

A warning message displays on the screen saying
You are not allowed to get buckets list. Would you like to add an External Bucket?
Click yes to add an external bucket

g. Enter the name and path of the bucket as mentioned in the email received from the Vaultastic team.
For example: vaultasticpstupload/mithi23022017
h. Click the Add External Bucket button to continue

B: Upload the PST

a. Launch the S3 browser
b. Click the Upload button and select the Upload file(s) option.

c. Locate the PST files to be uploaded on your machine.
Click the Open button to upload.

You can view a list of all the uploaded files.

Once you upload PST files on S3 Bucket successfully, you can proceed to the next step to Import PST files to Vaultastic.

Step 2: Import data from the PST files to Vaultastic

1. Enter the URL http://orch.mithi.com:8080/login in the browser address bar to navigate to Mithi's Historical Data Upload portal

2. Enter the user id and password shared via the email & click the log in button.

For the credentials, please refer the email sent by the Vaultastic team in reply to your request for historical data upload.

3. Select the IMportPST2Vaultastic tab

4. Click the Build with Parameters link.

5. Enter the following information in the form

a. Vaultastic user id. For example, deepa_k
b. Vaultastic domain name. For example, baya.vaultastic.com. The data will be uploaded in the [email protected] account.
c. Vaultastic user password
d. PST file name. For example deepa_k.pst
e. Folder on the S3 bucket which contains the pst file. This is the name of the external folder shared. For example, baya23022017.
f. Name of the destination folder to be created in the Vaultastic account.
g. Email address which will get the notification after the import is completed.

6. Click the Build button.

7. After the build is completed a mail will be sent along with attachments containing the folder list and the number of messages in them.

Once you import PST files on Vaultastic successfully, you can proceed to the next step to View uploaded data on Vaultastic.

Step 3: View uploaded data

  • You can view the imported data as it is uploaded to Vaultastic account.
  • On completion of the import job, you will receive a job completion and confirmation email message from the Vaultastic team to your registered email id.

The Imported data will be shown in the History folder of the Vaultastic account.
